Inner-city and Hout Bay MyCiTi routes suspended due to COVID-19 case

21 May 2020

The City regrets to inform MyCiTi commuters that the majority of the inner-city and Hout Bay and Hangberg routes will not be operational tomorrow, Friday 22 May 2020, due to COVID-19 mitigation measures.

The vehicle operating company (VOC) operating these routes has informed the City late this afternoon that the affected bus depot will be closed, following a positive test result for COVID-19.

The VOC is collaborating with the Provincial Department of Health in terms of contact tracing, and the affected personnel have been booked off and are required to self-quarantine as per the applicable guidelines.

All of the buses, and the premises and facilities, will be sanitised and decontaminated in accordance with the requisite COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

As such, commuters are advised that the following routes will not be operational tomorrow:
• 101 Vredehoek  to Civic (clockwise)
• 104 Oranjezicht to Sea Point
• 105 Sea Point via Fresnaye to Civic
• 108 Hangberg to Adderley
• 109 Hout Bay via Imizamu Yethu to Adderley
• 111 Vredehoek to Civic (anti-clockwise)
• 113 Upper Kloof Street to Waterfront

The City will keep the public informed, and advise MyCiTi users to please phone the TIC on 0800 65 64 63 for more information, or to visit www.myciti.org.za for further advisories.
